Danelle takes the extra hair she shaves off of her Persian cat clients and spins it into yarn. She then knits the furry skeins into kitten-soft purses and sweaters.

I would NOT wear a sweater made from cat hair, no. Or even dog hair. ESPECIALLY one I once knew.

That said... Petting Buck is one of the most soft and pleasurable experiences my hands have these days. I think all that sorta loose skin must contribute to the experience. The two dogs I had before were much more shorthair (and shed a TON less) but Buck is ... I dunno. VERY soft, and he's crazy about hugging. He'll come in here and sit beside me, and tap my leg with his paw, and look soulfully up to me until I say OK and lightly tap my chest, and then he'll rise up on his hind legs and gingerly lean waaaaaaaay in for a hug, which is reciprocated. Sometimes, that's all he wants, and once he's had it, he's content to then wander off to create mischief elsewhere (or in this case, go back to bed) but his coat is quite luxurious to the touch. And he's warm. :) Nice in January. It's like putting on a pre-heated coat for a second, and a perk. Not so much so in August.
