I don't care who's "right."

I just don't understand why, if people are so hell bent on power, violence, etc., they just can't get ... like twenty five die-hard soldiers from each side, and let them fight it out, and leave civilians out of it!

Since "Shock and Awe," (and what a proud, boastful phrase that is, for the near destruction of a metropolitan area) close to 100K Iraqi civilians have died because of the war. Civilians! Meanwhile, Osama bin Laden is cranking out so much film so successfully, he'll probably end up as the spokesman for the Men's Hair Club, or something. Has he started humming the "Entertainment Tonight" theme tune yet? Don't change that channel!

Yeah, I'm still mad as hell about Iraq. And I'm mad as hell about all these dumbass WARS! I'm tired of babies dying because a bunch of old men have their panties in a bunch. I'm tired of the "my God can beat up YOUR God" mentality. I'm tired of billion upon billion upon billion of dollars being siphoned away from things like saving this planet, and instead invested in further destroying it piece by coveted piece.

if there is a lesson to be taken from post 911 war activities it is perhaps that the old way is not quite as effective as it once was especially when youre fighting against an "enemy" who is not afraid of death.  ive always been baffled by the idea of going in and losing 50,000 soldiers to exact revenge for an incident where a far smaller group has been killed. things like sending in a battalion to save one marine. that makes no sense to me. i suppose that its for the "honor" of the situation but when civilians are the ones who pay the cost for that honor it ends up being something less than honorable. for countries where military might has been the way to force others to come around to a particular pov this last decade has shown the biblical david vs goliath potential for all sorts of victories. even if there is an immediate "victory" it creates a never ending conflict.  and in cases where military response is 100 times the initial aggression one has to wonder which larger audience this performance is for.
