im not sure that the compatibility test would translate into compatibility for any couples het or gay. ive seen the questionaire, its pretty general and it relies on insight and integrity from the person filling it out and from the person that they are matched up with not to mention whatever program does the matches. it also assumes that people who have certain "qualities" for lack of a better term, all like the same kind of person.   it sounds good tho and people are more likely to shell out some money if it sounds like a scientific match rather than a chance thing. do an experiment and fill out a profile with a hotmail addy and see if the person they match you with would be anyone youd really date. but on the whole, i suspect the site would end up being like the aol glbt boards, supposedly created for the glbt community but participation subjects us to unchecked hate crimes and proselytizers.  im glad that they cant discriminate but i dont think their service is any more likely than say match.com  to produce a real compatible partner.

oh well, guess it wont matter to eHarmony, 'cause gay or str8....the money is still green right???

 

i think tho that there is more than money involved in the original decision to not offer services to glbt people. if it were about the money the founders would have offered that choice from the beginning. its rare to see a dating site that doesnt offer all options. but they didnt and now that they are sort of forced to do so, they are creating a separate site rather than offering same sex options on the original site. if the founders are or employ clinical psychologists to work this site this seems an odd choice and an odd response to the court decision. even to state that they have 35 years of marriage counseling experience with het couples is an odd statement. it sort of leads one to believe that theyve either never had a gay couple come to them for therapy which is in itself remarkable or that they have turned away gay clients either because they felt they were not qualified to work with them or they made a decision to not become qualified.  theres sort of a pattern there from where i sit.
