It hit me today, that the one thing missing from all sides in this election is the passion of a Bill Clinton. And too, there is for me, just something which exhales, and feels reassured, when he flashes that grin, and his eye twinkles, and he says in that gravely Arkansas voice: "Well, now, listen: Anybody who bets against America is gonna lose" or whatever it was exactly that he said.
He was (IMO) a "keeper."
I would love to have the same kind of confidence in the present candidates that I have with either of the Clintons. (btw did you get the bill mail last week asking for contributions for obama? I aint there yet:) this is such an uncertain time im sort of amazed that weve ended up with. one candidate who seems to be a tad forgetful and another who seems a tad unprepared. and then there is sarah.
Say what you like about the guy, I still miss President Bill Clinton.
I still think he was a "great" president.
Bill Clinton is everything George W. Bush isn't: smart, passionate, and concerned about ALL the people who live in this country.
I caught a glimpse of him on "The View" this morning as I sailed out the door on an errand run, and saw his (aged) animated face, and heard him utter a sentence which must have contained at least five "off the top of his head" numbers that I don't know I could have remembered, if I sat down and tried to memorize them by rote. He has them, and tons more right there, though, in his head. I've always thought his intellect vastly under rated.
And again, as Hillary asked: "What didn't you like? The peace, or the prosperity?"

Clinton and Gorbachev were getting ready to give some talks, I can't remember what it was but Gorbachev said something to Bill and he laughed so hard he had to wipe tears from his eyes. That is something that impressed me, sounds silly I know but I like people who can laugh that hard. People who have a great sense of humor can nearly always see the ridiculous in situations, we need that. I wasn't always crazy about Bill, but I did trust him more than anyone who has been president in a long time.
