Is anyone following this? imo obama made the right decision. not a popular decision and not a decision that adheres to his transparency agenda but still it feels intuitively correct to preserve the safety of those troops who are still involved in action in both iraq and afghanistan. still, i suppose that eventually, if any of those involved end up facing charges, these tapes and photos will become public. how do others feel about this?
I think it's the most prudent decision, for society, morale, integrity, and troops present and future. Also, equally as important is that it inherently becomes photojournalism and left to interpretation a bazillion stories can be extracted from photos and blurbs cobmined. I think that could be, have been, may be, tragic. Separating the written transcripts from the photos is essential to curb potential and undue outrage. Outrage is sufficiently formed, rightfully without hype and misinterpretation.
