its a way of sharing the fun with others. lol. ive noticed that when my dog or any of the dog buddies gets out of the water they find a person to walk up to before they do the shake shake shake thing. really there must be some doggy manners involved in this and they think they are doing a good thing:)
Fine. You all win. I'll have a brown kitchen floor, but I'm warning you, Psych -- do NOT come into my office and SHAKE!
hanging head and well ya know sometimes you just have to shake.

be still indeed:) the film fest was great. lots of really good movies including the shorts. the first, james, was very interesting. it concerned a 12ish boy who is coming to terms with his sexuality and looking for someone to talk to about it. hes crushed on a closeted male teacher and he comes out to him but the teacher blows him off telling him hes brave but that he must stay away from him and so he ends up going off with a pedophile. another called 13 min or something like that was also great. had to do with seemingly straight men who end up in bed and are processing that and its all healthy and good. nice to see that defining of healthy relationships instead of the anon sex in bathrooms thats come to define a lot of films i see in these film fests. a lot of room for discussion there. also girls room which was hilarious having to do with what happens inside the stalls of public restrooms with overly polite catholic school girls:) and no, its not sexual. its more about potty behavior. the ferron doc was great. very sensitively done by a wonderful independent film maker who was there for the showing and answered questions afterward. lots of music and lots of emotionally revealing scenes reflected thru her band members and her music. in one of the final scenes she tears up on stage surrounded by her band who had apparently disbanded after the fiasco surrounding their warner bros days and looks at them and their togetherness and breaks down and issa aka jane siberry comes up and hands her a kleenex. the flimmaker shared that after she sent ferron the dvd of the film she didnt hear anything for days so she called her and ferron said shed been watching it and crying for days and i found myself tearing up a bit. ferron songs are sort of the soundtrack of my life for the past 30 years or so and hearing them and seeing her on that giant screen left me with flooded with both joy and emotional angst:) the rest of the day wasnt that shabby either. the picnic was going great till the deluge began. we had already eaten and we were playing volleyball and had all worked up a sweat so when the rain began we kept playing till it was waterball and we were as muddy as buckie! it felt good till the temp dropped..brrr. by the time the movie began tho we had dried off so it was all good.
going to a lesbian potluck picnic at peoples forest and then to the ct lgbt film fest tonight.
If you happen to bump into the governor there please give her my regards, and let her know I've got a great idea for where she can store her vetos ...
governator jodie? last week one of the alt rags ran a feature on her and her high approval rating in ct. people really like her tho very few can name anything that shes either for or against. she very donna reed like but shes one hell of a pol tho a pol with pearls is not easily apprehended as a pol. she came to her position when the last gov went to prison for corruption and she was the lt gov and shes stayed put which in a state like ct couldnt happen without a lot of dems voting for her. when ma passed marriage equality she immediately helped move thru the ct legislature a civil union bill which she hoped would keep her from having to deal with marriage equality. i doubt that she really cares one way or the other but she plays well to her constituency.
when we went to make a second pot, there was a huge ****roach / palmetto bug in the grinds. I've never been able to drink or, indulge anything hazelnut. And, I never drank coffee there again. Gator
Thanks for sharing.
(LOL)
somewhere in the world someone is prolly frying up a bucket of palmettos and thinking delicacy. hee hee. i brought twizzlers to the film fest as a snack and when i offered some to friends i was reminded that years ago i shared with them that they are colored by carmine which is made from bugs. all da more for me lol.

Owl? I've been thinking about you going without cream in your coffee. Do this for me ok? Go to the Organic Valley web site. They have 8 dollars in coupons and, one is for a dollar off creamer. Makes it almost free. I hope the stores there sell the brand. You can print them twice in 6 months. One for regular and soy milk too. You could be happy as a bee on your flowers for a good while. I mean it......get the darn coupon;) Gator
Hey, thanks for the tip! :) I've sort of acquired the taste for black coffee at long last. By that, I mean I don't shudder when I drink it any more. That's HOME coffee, of course, not the drek you get in most restaurants. Not that I go to restaurants... LOL. I make a combination of French roast and Hazelnut, and not too stout (since I'm drinkin' it black, and all.) Not bad, actually, and probably much better for me. Even so, I DO miss at least an occasional cuppa joe "just so" though. Now, it tastes like a dessert drink to me. :)

holy shrimp! lol. ive never seen a shrimp that large. had shrimp and veggies at the chinese restaurant yesterday and those were 3 plump inches after cooking and i thought that was good. are they tender when they are that large? the hours off the boat part sounnnds good. theyre prolly weeks old around these parts.
Very tender and sweet like lobster. Calling it a shrimp did not seem fitting.............why I called it a prawn. I did notice some roe .........at least I hope that is what it was...................maybe why so big.

Omg. We wouldn't know what to DO with 20 inches of rain. That's like ... three year's worth ... three GOOD, WET years, for us!
I'm calling it our first depression of the season...........out of the Atlanticeven if the idiot that can never predict calls it what we usually get in the fall.
i saw that on the weather channel the other morning. something about a front that acts like a hurricane yet isnt quite there. it caused a lot of beach erosion too didnt it? given the amount of rain happening this year it seems the drought has passed. least im hoping so.
If you mean the same sex marriage thing, they're going to rule on Tuesday. I... don't have a real positive feeling about it, but maybe the activities of other states in the past couple of weeks will help tilt the scales a bit towards justice.
one can hope anyway.
Mine were 9 bucks. Larger than my hand and, hours off the boat. I've never tried plum but, I do favor a peach basil and prawn k bob brushed with olive oil and lime. damn I'm hungry:)

I happened to catch a snippet of Rachel Ray's show the other day, and they were making surf and turf kabobs. Sounded ... intriguing, but I'm not a "surf" food fan, so, wouldn't be something I'd do, but others might, I suppose...
that does sound good too. now im getting hungry. holding off on eating tho. going to a lesbian potluck picnic at peoples forest and then to the ct lgbt film fest tonight. it must be sunday because its ladies night at the movies. why do they do that? grrr. anyway a ferron documentary is the lead movie with a few short films to lead in.

awwwwwwwww some bunnies have been thinking about little ole me? I'm good and, my usual charming self with killer legs:) Thank you very much;) I was born with an extra leg bone that was not noticeable, even when I did sports, until my precious dog tripped me and, I hit the side of the coffee table and, the bone incroached my knee. I've dealt with it 2 years after but, got tired of the limp and, knee lock every time I got somewhat physically active. And, the days that followed trying to self rehabilitate it. It got removed and, some tendon and ligament repair was done as well. I managed to love on the plants in spite of it and, with some demeraol and, a walker:)
well there you are. good to know that youre on the mend and that sounds like a pretty big operation. whats the total recovery time?
I have been milking the Nephew doing chores for me until ............. I had him lace my shoes and, I moaned all the while and, then took him out to show him a job to do and, then jogged back to the house.
And, the last week with 20 plus inches of rain,

they have been flying solo. The tomatoes are a good 3 feet and loaded with blooms and, a few fruit. I have a large head of bib lettuce and, this weekend am going to cut a few leaves for a turkey sandwich.
Wow. I'm envious. :) If I go one day without watering, the next morning I have dead plants.
Same here in a days time when it doesn't rain.
I have a very small lemon tree loaded as well and, I totally agree a little squeeze of it or lime compliments so many things. lol......... oh and, cucumbers cimbing the string like crazy. The rest in the box is speculative but, I think the swiss chard can.
i still havent gotten out to the garden. im sure the weeds are knee high and im really hoping to get to it tomorrow. things keep popping up and keeping me distracted. i can see by my front flower beds tho that much work is waiting for me.

lol. i got me some of those babies at the grocery this week and popped them in the freezer. the price was a bit steeper than usual somewhere near 9 bucks a lb. im thinking some lime marinated grilled shrimp and plum k bobs are on the menu some time this weekend.

Yeah. I've been thinking that the last few days, myself. Did you get someone to help you water your plants? What's goin' on in your world?

hope all went well with your operation today and that youre resting comfortably.
OMG ouch ouch ouch but, being taken out of the pain zone and into la la zone in about 15 minutes so, while I wait, I am only here to say just how sweet I think you are. It really is appreciated. I tried to go to the articles you posted.....................ok technically you may not wish that I call them articles but, I did and, beside the point. I can not focus and, found my purple haze state taking me beyond this realm and into a baby version of Leary land where everyone knows your numb. And, it was the same and,a control larger than me;) I missed the point here but, who cares. You are a swell lady to talk to here but, what I like best is that you are your own person here. That is even kind of sexy;) Only complaint I have about here but, I degress. There is so much more one can do with the hopes of bending a knee again. TC Gator
well i am hoping that both of your knees are in better shape now and that the purple haze is now coming only from the mp3 player. lol. ive never had a doc give me the haze inducing goodies. i always get the take 2 tylenol and call me if it gets beyond your pain tolerance. the stuff they give you to numb it while they work on you always seems to end and the real pain thing usually kicks in around 3 am and you just know that a) they arent going to answer the phone or b) the drugstore wont open for hours and by that time its all ok again. glad you made it thru and that by now the ouchies are long gone!
hope all went well with your operation today and that youre resting comfortably.

Ah! Did you have knee replacement surgery? I missed your whole "having surgery" thing somehow, and didn't know about it until I read Psych's post, and then ... was sort of on pins an needles waiting for you to reply. Glad you're okay, and that you're still enjoying your buzz. :)
