So I've been sort of following the discussion in the US legislature to include sexual preference and identity in the hate crimes bill.

Here's the kind of argument, awareness, and well, just "mentality" we're up against.

you have to wonder who ran against her in her last election that.. er... elevated her to the position of better candidate. she aint the brightest bulb on the tree that is if she really believes the things she says here. maybe she isnt as dumb as she seems and is instead passing on the heterosexual agenda.  olbermans on target, shes either really uninformed or really evil.

The "I try to be as fair but obnoxious and hysterical as I can" broadcaster Keith Oberman nightly picks three people nominated for his dubious "worst person in the world" award. Yesterday, Ms. Foxx was the winner. I'm including this in part, because the runners up were also ... the kind of people which whom (away from this board) I've recently been bumping into. To be honest, my fear regarding contraction of the swine flu is miniscule to my knowledge that these people not only vote, but actually become elected to public office.

critical thinking apparently isnt something that appeals to a large part of american society if one were to judge solely on the basis of tagged comments on articles of interest to the glbt community or those who find it easier to believe that batboy is alive in new jersey suckling on infants when parents leave the windows open or that passage of the hate crimes bill will outlaw the bible and regulate their thinking.

and before i forget when i was looking at that clip and exploring utube i saw a statistic stating that every 8 days there is a hate related death of someone who ids as glbt. i tried to research that statistic but didnt find the source. if its true?

1 death every 8 days? and thats not counting those who experience a hate related crime who dont die.

and yet there are still people who believe that its all groovy for us out there in the world.  i guess this is one of those until it happens to you it doesnt happen things.
