^5. And let's just hope it IS over come Wednesday, this time. <--owl

someone ought to mention to mccain that character is who you are when things get tough and right now his character is looking a bit tarnished.  one of his top advisors was interviewed yesterday and asked point blank if she believed that mccain thought obama was a socialist and she said no and then did some wiggly squirm around the issue but the interviewer kept coming back to the question. it was an uncomfortable interview to listen to. i find this kind of negativity disgusting. i wish this were an isolated tactic with the republican party but look at elizabeth doles campaign where she accuses her opponent of taking "godless money." i suppose the scariest part of that is that the people who are likely to believe that stuff or worry about it are the ones who perhaps might decide this election.

Which October surprise are we talking about?  I have this Myspace friend, who is really just an acquaintance IRL.  He has been posting  bulletins by the hour spewing crap about Obama.  Most of these are Drudge reports or the like, and republican propaganda.

One was titled:  October Surprise! Obama is a citizen of what country?

The following has a copyright at the bottom of the article to a someone named Newsmax:

Arabs: Obama One of Us'

While Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has tried to push his origins into the background, his Islamic roots have won him a place in many Arabs hearts.

Thats the observation of Iranian-born commentator Amir Taheri, whose column in Tuesdays New York Post notes that many Arabs and other Muslims see Obama as one of them.

I simply cannot wait for Wednesday of next week.  I'm real over all this.  The republicans must be in desperation mode for the stuff they're coming up with.

the bigger october surprise is to find out that mccain, while chairman of the IRI, helped to fund the same dudes organization. lets see obama is a guest at a dinner where a moderate supporter of palestinian human rights is featured and is somehow responisble for the content of poetry read at the dinner vs in 1998 mccain gives the same guy 448,000 for his organization.  its clear hes having a very hard time finding dirt since most of what hes come up with to date has had a nasty backsplash right back at him.

Sen. John McCain
He Claims Paper
Protects Obama

L.A. Times Won't Release Tape
What Does Party Video Show?

--------------------------------------------------------
It shows only more desperate xenophobic hate/fear mongering of a losing campaign. Even though I never agreed with his politics, I've long respected John McCain, and thought him, if politically misguided, and capable of flaws, which he tried to amend, a man of honor. No more. Not after the last couple of weeks.

Anyone who thinks this kind of muckraking is in any way "good" for this country is free to slurp it up, but without my company.
This "October surprise" is nothing more than an October shame and embarrassment. I'm finally sad for John McCain -- he's sold his soul to the political devil of greed for power.

I am beyond revolted in the behavior of McCain, Palin, and the GOP in this drawn out death throe dance. It's just finally and simply ugly and disgusting.
