I have been having a blast watching people drive past my house and scoping out the trash pile, they want to stop so bad it hurts but they don't want to be seen digging thru other peoples trash. I collected coke bottles for years and I know some of the ones out at the curb are worth $5 or$10 each, lawdy they wanna stop so bad but my neighbor has his smoker going and can see them. I did have a little guy yesterday ask if he could have the Bell helmets, I told him take what ever is at the curb ya want. Those helmets were no good on the inside but his dad assured me he could get new liners. People are funny. Anyone want books? I have given away so many and still have boxes to go. Now, people who read have been very willing to go thru the free book boxes.
try a curb alert on craigslist. that usually brings out the book people and it will prolly clear out the rest of the stuff out there too. and whats a bell helmet?

I've picked up a few decent, pricey things a few years back and some clunker units you cannot imagine why anyone would bother to store the crap for. Unless, they were just to embarrassed to display it. At least you have the peace of mind that you don't have to haul it out. :)
I will be back here to move the nice stuff it CA, I call my stuff junk but it is really nice. I am not sure how long I will live in the maids quarters at my aunts. I may eventually want to move into my own place, although the maids quarters are very private from the main house. what I will yard sale will be collectables, some art, tools lotta tools, I have sold stuff like the sofa love seat and chair, that would attract mice if stored. The storage place has several vendors who sell on weekends, I have sold candles and soap there before, at a friends storage unit. LOL the only problem I am having is being old and in pain, getting things over there is killin me. I got sick last year (nearly died) and I have never gotten over it. I am only good for 2 hours labor then I have to rest. Let me assure you Betty Davis wasn't fibbin when she said, "old age isn't for sissies".

Lawdy, between my moms junk and my junk I have sorted thru 130 years of horded stuff. I am trying to look at this with a positive eye, my family won't have as many memories as I had to sort, when I die. I don't think I want to put anyone on the emotional roller coaster this has been for me. I have laughed some but squalled much more.
well back to labor,,,, lawdy i hate to sweat without wages!
it sounds like a bittersweet task but it also sounds like youre moving toward something youve wanted and are looking forward to. i wish you great fortune with your move and a belated happy birthday btw.
I am now getting to a place that looks like light at the end of the tunnel. I have started moving boxes into storage, the boys I hang out with said they'll move the heavy stuff. I have boxes marked yard sale, when I get time to come back for my stuff before I pull out I am having a yard sale at the storage unit. That ought to be fun LOL. In colletable glassware and bottles I have a zillion dollars. Lawdy, I had no Idea I had so much danged pewter, and still can't figure out why I started gathering it. All I am taking with at this time is clothing and bathroom stuff, so I have a LARGE storage unit that when I store the furniture will be full, to the very top! Lawdy what one woman needs with 2 full rooms of bedroom furnishings I will never know. What the 'ell was I thinking? My little CA apartment is furnished so I need just me and personal stuff.
My uncle (manages my aunts estate) calls and adds new duties every day, I add wages. LOL If he keeps it up I will end up with all of Mary Lous money before she dies,,,,,, if the old cogger doesn't out live us all.
